Alex represents clients in various sectors of the energy, petrochemical, and utility industries in lawsuits and arbitrations involving; breach of contract, property damage, personal injury, and construction claims. 

Selected Matters 

  • Trial counsel for Marathon Petroleum in obtaining jury verdict and securing judgment in excess of $70 million for contractual indemnity claims against an industrial contractor

  • Trial counsel for Marathon Petroleum in obtaining a full defense verdict on liability and affirmative defenses and securing judgment granting prescriptive easement rights in property ownership dispute

  • Lead counsel for CenterPoint Energy in obtaining dismissal of personal injury claim arising from electrical contact

  • Achieved dismissal of personal injury and property damage claims brought against an electric transmission and distribution utility arising from an underground transformer vault fire.

  • Defended a major exploration and production company in a dispute brought by a pipeline contractor for breach of contract and violations of the Texas Property Code with respect to the construction of an oil and gas gathering system.
